Sewers Museum
World Water Day 2026
March 22 of each year is declared “World Water Day” by the United Nations General Assembly. Access to drinking water throughout the world, which has been considered a human right by the United Nations since 2010, is insufficient. That is why states are invited, on this day, to raise public awareness about the conservation and development of water resources.
UN-WATER, the United Nations coordination mechanism on water and sanitation also defines the theme of the day. In 2026, the focus is on gender inequalities, with women and girls being hardest hit by the lack of access to water and sanitation.
The sewerage museum will discuss the theme of water and its presence in the Parisian underground labyrinth of sewers during two guided tours at 11am and 3pm
