Général terms and conditions of sale

Any order made on the musee-egouts.paris.fr website of the city of Paris sewer museum, hereafter refered to as the Museum, exclusively falls under the following terms of sale.

The website, source code, texts, images and any other elements of the website is the exclusive property of the Museum.

All content on the website falls under copyright legislation. As such, and according to the regulations from the Intellectual Property Code, the website is intended for private use only. Any offender will be prosecuted before the competent french court.

Article 1 : Purpose

The purpose of the following terms of sales is to lay out the rights and obligations of the Museum and its visitors regarding bookings and tickets sales.

The city of Paris reserves the right to modify these conditions at any time, without notice. In the event of a modification, the terms of sale applicable to any order will be the ones in effect the day the order was made.

Article 2 : Scope

The following terms of sale are applicable without restriction nor reservation to tickets purchased online at the sewer Museum’s website. Regulations from the Consumption Code and other applicable law related to online purchases, including withdrawal period, aren’t applicable.

Article 3 : Fees

Entry fees to the Museum and modalities for reduced fees or free admission are susceptible to be changed without notice depending on the deliberations issued by the Paris City Council. Entry fees and modalities for reduced fees and free admission are available on the Museum’s website.

Article 4 : Ordering process

The ordering process involves a few steps of choices and validation. An overview will allow you to check the details of your order before final validation. You will need to make sure all informations provided are correct (Permanent collection visit, exposition, date, time, fee). You will then be able, upon acceptance of these terms of sale, to finalize your order. Tickets ordered on this website can be printed (see conditions below), either :

  • Immediately after payment has been processed
  • Later on, using the link provided in the email sent to the address previously provided

It is the customer’s responsibility to insure the contact information provided when placing the order is correct.

Article 5 : Printing and authorized media for tickets presentation

You can download tickets in the PDF format to print them after finalizing your order. You will also receive an email containing link allowing you to print your tickets later on. Several tickets can be printed on a two sided blank page. However, printing quality must allow complete readability of the tickets, especially the barcodes. In case of any incident or insufficient printing quality, you will need to print your tickets again. The barcode on the ticket must be presented to the optical scanner at the entry of the Museum. Prior to placing any order, you must make sure you have access to the necessary means to print your tickets : a computer with access to the internet, a printer, a web browser compatible with w3c standards and a software compatible with PDF files.

You can also present the downloaded tickets directly on devices such as a smartphone or tablet. As Museum staff is not qualified to handle guest’s devices, it is up to you to handle the device and present your tickets.

Article 6 : Access conditions

Printed or downloaded tickets allow to directly check-in at the entry of the Museum for the optical scan verification of the tickets’ barcode. Only the first person to present a specific ticket will be allowed in the Museum. That person will be assumed as being the legitimate owner of the ticket for the date and time specified on said ticket, with a tolerance of 10 minutes prior and 30 minutes after for individual visitors, and a tolerance of 10 minutes prior and 15 minutes after for groups.

Supporting documents may be demanded before entry to justify the selected fees. Guests unable to present said documents will have to pay the full entry fee.

As a reminder, disabled persons and their attendants have priority access to the Museums’ check-in to get their free admission.

Article 7 : Payment conditions

Payments on this website are made directly when ordering through the transmission of your credit card number (Carte Bleu, Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard accepted) via the secured payment system 3DSecure. Applicable fees being those displayed the day of the order.

For groups, the person booking the tickets will be considered as the payer. Billing informations are only informational and cannot be argued with the City of Paris.

Article 8 : Responsabilities and insurances

You are financially responsible for your usage of the website, in your name and any third party, including minors, unless you can demonstrate fraudulent practice that doesn’t result from any foul or negligence on your part. You also guarantee the exactitude and truthfulness of any information provided by yourself or any third party while using the website.

The city of Paris cannot guarantee that informations, services, or softwares on the website will be free of any anomaly or error, nor that the latter could be corrected, or that the website will work flawlessly without outage or interruption, or be compatible with any configuration beside the ones validated by the city of Paris.

In the event of your payment being irregular, incomplete or missing for any reason, the order would be cancelled, with ensuing fees to your charge. A civil or penal action could be intended to the buyer if needed. You agree to fully recognize the limitation of the internet, in particular its technical performances and response time when browsing, querying or transferring data as well as the risks involved with communications security.

The city of Paris will not accept any complaint, or any refund request, related to any failure of the purchased service imputable to the buyer, any third party or any case of force majeure. It is expressly agreed upon on that, without any proven obvious error, data stored by the information system of the city of Paris have probative value regarding your purchases.

Electronic or physical data collected by the city of Paris are considered proofs, and can be used as such in any legal dispute by any party.

Any request for information, or any claim to the city of Paris must be sent through the “contact” section of the website. These demands will be processed by the city of Paris at the condition that they are related to the services provided in the context of the present terms of sale.

This service has been declared to the “Correspondant Informatique et Liberté” of the city of Paris. Any non-mandatory information gathered are used to improve the offered services while assuring security. Please refer to the legal mentions available on the website.

Article 9 : Personal data protection

In accordance with the french and european regulation applicable to the city of Paris, you own the right to access, modify, and delete any data related to you. You can use that right by sending an email using the contact section of the website, by using the following link DPE-rgpd@paris.fr, or by sending a mail to the department of the Sewer at the following address : Musée des égouts, 93, Quai d’Orsay, 750O7 Paris. If demanded, the deletion of your personal data will be done after your visit of the Museum.

Article 10 : force majeure, dispute, and applicable law

No party can be held responsible for the total or partial non-execution of its obligations, if the latter is due to any incidental or force majeure event, as characterized by courts ruling, including but not limited to floodings, fires, storms, lack of raw materials, epidemics, and total or partial strikes of public transportations or postal services.

The present terms of sales are originally written in French. If any doubt, misunderstanding or contradiction arises from a translated version, the original french document will prevail.

The present terms of sale are written under French regulation. Any dispute regarding their interpretation or execution shall be settled under French courts’ authority.
